SASKATOON, Saskatchewan – October 20, 2018 – dentalcorp is proud to support the students of the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Dentistry as the principal sponsor of their newly established community clinic, DIRECT Dental. With the support of the university and $25,000 in funding from dentalcorp, a group of senior dental students founded the clinic with the goal of offering free oral care to those in need.

DIRECT Dental, which will operate for 14 days throughout the year, will offer emergency care and oral health education to members of the local community who cannot afford dental services. Operating out of the Saskatoon West Dental Clinic on weekends, dental care will be provided by senior University of Saskatchewan’s College of Dentistry students. Senior students will be supported by junior peers and overseen by members of the community including practicing dentists and dental hygienists who have committed to volunteering their time.
To commemorate the opening of DIRECT Dental, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at Saskatoon West Dental Clinic on October 20th, 2018.
