Dentistry plays a key role in the fight against COVID-19 and as healthcare providers, we must lead by example. We have to do our part to keep patients out of the emergency room. We must also keep them out of busy waiting rooms and cramped operatories, where we can.
Dental regulatory bodies and public health authorities have made it clear. Dentists should only be seeing patients for true emergencies. Treatment that can wait, should wait.
Let’s continue to work together to flatten the curve, and let’s keep our industry in the media for the right reasons – dental professionals and practices volunteering their time and donating their PPE to make a positive difference in our fight against this pandemic.
