dentalcorp appoints Dr. Bruce Freeman to spearhead its new Patient Experience program

Toronto, ON – June 30, 2020 – dentalcorp, Canada’s largest and leading network of dental practices, announced today the appointment of Dr. Bruce Freeman as Director of Patient Experience in a newly created role to further the organization’s commitment to optimal patient care and service excellence.

Dr. Freeman will work across dentalcorp’s network to drive best practices in patient experience, while providing clinical leadership and mentorship to enhance the development and well-being of dentists and team members.

“Bruce’s passion for advancing not only the patient care agenda, but also instilling the importance of self-care in health practitioners is inspiring,” said Dr. Gary Glassman, dentalcorp’s Chief Dental Officer. “His expertise will be instrumental in helping our practices redefine what it means to provide a world class experience to our patients and health care practitioners alike.”

Since 2017, Dr. Freeman has worked with DC Institute, dentalcorp’s continuing education department, where he developed and taught a variety of courses including a proprietary Patient Experience program, which has been delivered across the country, and the popular Movement, Mindfulness and Breathing program, completed by more than 1,000 dental professionals since the onset of COVID-19.

About Dr. Bruce Freeman:

Dr. Freeman is an international lecturer on orthodontics, virtual surgical planning and facial pain disorders. He is an Associate in Dentistry at the University of Toronto and Co-Director of the Facial Pain Unit in the Department of Dentistry at Mount Sinai Hospital, where he also participates in research endeavours. Dr. Freeman is a certified yoga instructor with additional training in breathing techniques, meditation, and trauma informed movement. He further directs the Wellness Program for Hospital Dental Residents at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, emphasizing how self-care leads to the best patient care.

Outside of his work at dentalcorp, Dr. Freeman will continue his private practice in orthodontics in Toronto with an emphasis on pre-prosthetic and surgical care in addition to serving as Co-Director of the Facial Pain Unit at Mount Sinai Hospital.
