Empowering the Future of Dentistry: Six Exceptional Students Awarded Scholarships and Career-Launching Opportunities in Oral Healthcare  


TORONTO, ON – June 3, 2024 – Dentalcorp, Canada's largest and one of North America's fastest-growing networks of dental practices, proudly announces the 2024 winners of its national scholarship program, designed to support the next generation of oral healthcare professionals. 


The Dentalcorp Academic Excellence Award offers recipients a significant contribution towards their tuition fees and a full-time, two-year contract with a leading Dentalcorp clinic upon graduation, providing these students with invaluable work experience and a head start in their dental careers.  


Winners are selected from a competitive pool of applicants based on their academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, and embodiment of Dentalcorp’s core values. 


2024 Dentalcorp Academic Excellence Award winners: 


Dental Hygiene 

  • Caelen Kay, Canadian National Institute of Health 
  • Disha Patelia, Canadian National Institute of Health
  • Summer Lane, Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene 

Dental Assisting 

  • Jaycee Gervais, Okanagan College
  • Jessie Austin, Keyin College 
 
Dental Therapy 
  • Drew McClelland, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan Polytechnic Campus 

 
The Dentalcorp Academic Excellence Award helps students manage the financial burden of education, allowing them to graduate with less debt and immediately begin rewarding careers.

"To date we've reimbursed over $1.1 million in tuition to support recent graduates entering the profession. Through the Academic Excellence Award, we've placed 20 exceptional dental professionals in clinics across Canada, often in underserved communities that need new talent now more than ever. I’m excited to welcome the 2024 winners to Dentalcorp and witness the positive impact they’ll have in our practices and in our communities." 


To qualify for the program students must be in their final year of study in dental hygiene, dental assisting, or dental therapy programs at Canadian institutions. Applications for next year’s program will open in January 2025 at academicexcellenceaward.ca
