The Bright Future of the Canadian Dental Industry

Posted Jan 17th, 2018 in 2018, events, the wire

Congratulations and well done to the students that organized and attended the First Canadian Student Dental Conference last week.

Members of the FCDSA brought together over 650 students from all 10 Canadian dental schools to hear from thought leaders with expertise across all areas of practice. The conference program was designed to build on the current dental curriculum, with speakers discussing the latest advances in dentistry as well the business skills needed to manage and grow a practice.

Members of the dentalcorp team were honoured to be asked to participate as speakers. Graham Rosenberg, our CEO, spoke about the changing nature of the dental industry and the business models, which are emerging as a result. Mark Carbonelli, Chief People Officer at dentalcorp, explained the importance of mentorship and how to build a strong and productive mentorship relationship. VP, Marketing, Julia Croll, rounded off the dentalcorp portion, with a discussion on how to market yourself as an associate.

Keeping the momentum going on Friday night, dentalcorp hosted the conference social at Real Sports Bar & Grill. Thank you to everyone who participated in our raffle! Together we raised $10,000, which will go towards the MLSE Foundation and support their amazing work giving children across Canada access to sport.

On day two of the conference, DC Institute faculty member and world-renowned speaker, Sam Daher spoke to a packed room about Invisalign and Malocclusion. As one of the world's foremost experts on Invisalign, Dr. Daher's talk was a rare opportunity not to be missed.

Overall, the conference was a resounding success and further proved the bright future of the dental industry. We look forward to continuing to work with the FCDSA and the CSDC in future.
